Looooong Time, No Talk

Hi friends…can I still call you friends even though it’s been soooooooo long?  I figured I’d drop in to say a quick hello and let you know what I’ve been up to since we last talked.

I had to step away from the blogging world for awhile.  I was beginning to feel like it was consuming me.  The deeper I got into the blogosphere, the more inadequate I felt (about my clothes, my house, my cooking, my overall inability to be June Cleaver).  And I was beginning to realize that I was putting off my children while I sat glued to the computer reading other blogs, commenting, and writing posts.  So I was already feeling like I wasn’t the “perfect” mother/wife/housekeeper but as I spent more time in the blog world, I really wasn’t being a very good mother/wife/housekeeper.  It was a vicious cycle and I had to get out of it.

And I know I did the right thing because in my 8 month hiatus, I haven’t missed it.  Some women use blogging as their outlet, like a journal and they miss it when they are away from it.  I was not one of those women.  But I did miss my interactions with all of you.

So that brings me to the purpose of my post today.  To invite you to join me on Facebook so we can still “talk” to each other, without getting swallowed up in the black hole otherwise known as the blogosphere.  I’ve even decided to bring back Truth Be Told Tuesdays over there.  So come on by, say hi and let’s be friends again :)

In case you’re wondering what else I’ve been up to, here’s a quick recap:  a few birthdays, a soon to be kindergartener {sniff, sniff}, some home projects that have been on my list for 5 years, some fun travels, an obsession with Pinterest, and lots of laundry.

But the biggest milestone for me has been a professional one.  Many of you may recall that I was wanting to focus on my Binky Bags and I am happy to say that I have officially done that!  They have been redesigned and renamed the Peachick Pacifier Pouch and I am focusing solely on selling them in my Etsy shop and getting them into retail stores.  So if you or anyone else you know is having a baby, they are a lifesaver and make the perfect addition to any baby shower gift!  And since we’re friends again, go ahead and take 20% off in the shop using the code FRIENDS.

For those of you that are still with me, thank you and I look forward to talking with you on Facebook!  And since no blog post would be complete without at least one picture, here we are celebrating my “baby’s” 5th birthday.

  1. I'm happy that you discovered that life witout blogging is a happy one. It's definitely important to take the time to actually smell the roses, rather than reading and writing about them. I still miss your blog posts, but am happily following you around on facebook :)

  5. Rebecca, I've been checking back regularly and was so excited to find this morning that you were back! But then ... you're not really. Sorry, I can't join you on Facebook. I feel about Facebook the way you feel about blogging: "getting swallowed up in the black hole otherwise known as the blogosphere." Not that I've tried Facebook, it's just that my under-control blogging and tweeting are all I can do; can't add another thing, certainly not Facebook. Glad you're enjoying family life; your happy little family is sooo photogenic! All the best, Jean
