Truth Be Told Tuesday #13 - Hiding Out

I know that Tuesday is technically almost over, but I couldn't let the night end without sharing my truth this week. For those of you that are new to Truth Be Told Tuesday (TBTT), it's a day when we can all come together to share the truth of our lives...not the life we portray on our blog or on Facebook, etc... To catch up on past TBTT posts, go here.

Truth Be Told, I aimlessly drove around tonight after getting out of a meeting early in order to purposefully miss bedtime for the kiddos. That's right, I hid out to not have to put the kids down for bed (remember, no judgment on TBTT!). My husband had already planned to put them down, the kids had already anticipated that Daddy would be putting them down. And while I could've made it home in time to put them down, I chose to drive around killing time instead. Sometimes, it’s just nice to not have to be on Mommy duty.

So now it’s your turn, tell us your truth. And if you hide out from your kids sometimes, feel free share that as well (seriously, I can’t be the only mom who does this!).

  1. The truth would be- I would do the same thing too if I were in your shoes. HA!!! I am still figuring out how to reply to a comment without jumping from here there and everywhere. I seriously need to have a blog cram session with you. SO- thank you for your comment on my last post. That was so encouraging. We'll have to remind each other to constantly stick to being ourselves- TBTT is a great way to do it too!!!

  2. Truth be told... I try to do it every week. I have a weekly girl's night with a friend and try to get home late enough that dinner/bath/bed are done. Doesn't happen so much now that I'm pregnant. Sitting at a bar drinking water for a few hours gets old... even with a good friend. And the fact that my daughter doesn't have a regular bedtime makes it difficult. But that's a story for another TBTT. :)

  3. I have TOTALLY done that before! Sometimes we NEED A BREAK from it all! My truth is that this Saturday my mom is babysitting for me so I can go to my friend's 30th bday party. The party is an hour away and it starts at 5pm. My mom asked me what time I needed her to come over and babysit and I said noon. Ahhhh, some ME time :)

  5. Truth Be Told- I haven't actually done that, but I have got up, got ready for work, took daughter to daycare, and drove right back home. Remote control in hand, glass of sweet tea, chips & dip, and popcorn on the menu for my vacation day. :)

I came over from C.R.A.F.T blog. Have a great day!
