Holiday Spirit? Not so much...

All over blogland, crafty ladies are redecorating their homes in beautiful fall creations. They're elaborately constructing Halloween costumes and gifts. And have you walked through a craft store lately? They've had their Christmas decorations up since 4th of July!

Is it wrong that all of this holiday stuff makes me crazy? It's still 90+ degrees here in Texas and I just find it impossible to get in the holiday spirit. Maybe it's because I have a million other things to do before the holidays arrive and I can't handle the constant reminder that it's nearly October already! I also feel the pressure as a "blogger" to post some creative holiday projects. I'll be lucky if I have Christmas tree up before December 25th!

Am I alone in my feelings? Maybe once it starts cooling down I'll be more in the holiday spirit, but for now it just makes me crazy!

I'm participating in this week's Social Parade. If you're visiting for the first time, Welcome! Take a look around (I'm not usually so bah-humbug) and maybe you'll come back again and visit sometime!

  1. I agree. I have resorted to the Pumpkin Latte fraps at Bucks to help set the mood. Lord help us that stores have their Easter stuff up come Thanksgiving....

  3. Im with you! I am in Florida and it is still in the 90's, I don't fall decorate and don't know any one that does. If we had a little cool weather maybe we could get in the swing!

  5. Rebecca! I completely hear you! I feel so behind because I don't even have a single Christmas idea percolating in the brain yet...we're also still in the midst of summer-like weather, which is hardly inspiring a desire to even touch anything woolly or warm. I have to remind myself that the whole fun of blogging is taking peaks into the lives and creative minds of others...no pressure to perform, right? It's hardly worth the fun of the endeavor if it becomes another stress-inducer. Happy weekend!

  6. It's definitely hard to remember that it is Autumn when it is so hot out still, but that's why I love decorating the house with pumpkins and fall decor, so when we are in the house we feel more in the autumn spirit. I always make up for what is lacking from the outside.

  7. I have a 1 yr old also, and I don't know how you find time to blog at all. I barely have time to read them, and have to stay up late to do that. I think it will get easier, we just have to hang in there!
