Personalized Eye Chart

Remember that I am making every gift I give this year? Well for the most part, that has been limited to kid's gifts. But this weekend, I celebrated the birthday of a dear, college friend of mine so I had fun creating some "grown up" gifts for her (I first wrote "adult" gifts but realized that gave the wrong impression :)

I'd seen this tutorial over at She Wears Flowers about making a personalized eye chart. I wanted to give it a try, so I figured I'd play around with it and see if I could come up with something for my friend.

Here's what I came up with...

I really like how it turned out. I actually used the website she mentions as a guide to create mine (mostly because I was too lazy to figure out the spacing in Word). I had to play around with the wording so the number of letters/numbers would be right. Then I (or rather, my husband) saved the image, opened it in Photoshop, cropped the website off the bottom and printed it.

I found the frame at Goodwill for $1.50. It was a minty green color, but I just used my apple green spray paint to it to liven it up a bit. I could've framed it in a smaller frame, but I liked having a lot of white space around it. I think it makes the words really pop!

It's a fun, whimsy gift that can be personalized for anybody and any occasion. The possibilities are endless!

In addition to the "Happy Birthday" eye chart, she's also the lucky new owner of this Letter Art that I previously posted about...

P.S. Be sure to go enter my GIVEAWAY! Somebody has to win...maybe it'll be you!
